OMAHA, Neb. — Deputies arrested a man accused of starting a brush fire near a business in unincorporated Douglas County on March 23, then assaulting a deputy during the booking process.
At about 7:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of North 108th and McKinley Street for a report of a man starting brush fires near an area business. A responding deputy found a small brush fire near the business and contacted Irvington Fire and Rescue to help contain and extinguish it.
A man matching the suspect’s description was then found walking away from the property toward Blair High Road. The deputy gave verbal commands for the man to surrender, but the commands were ignored.
