Missouri AG sends cease and desist letters to 33 unlicensed dispensaries, including 2 in the Springfield area

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) – Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway sent cease and desist letters to 33 unlicensed retailers, including two in the Springfield area, accused of selling intoxicating cannabis and marijuana products outside of the law.

The attorney general demanded that the businesses stop selling adulterated products, often marketed as marijuana, in violation of the Missouri Merchandising Practices Act.

“These unlicensed dispensaries are peddling dangerous, deceptive, and intoxicating cannabis and marijuana products,” Hanaway said. “A storefront and a sales counter do not magically convert an illegal drug operation into a legitimate business. My Office is prepared to use the full extent of our authority to hold bad actors accountable.”
