Sedgwick County Emergency Communications launches fire dispatch priority system

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Sedgwick County Emergency Communications has launched its Fire Dispatch Priority System to provide additional support for the processing of fire-related calls.

“It is just more of a structural change done on our end, so what it is is it really helps the 911 call taker walk those citizens through and ask those very specific questions in certain orders, and it just helps the fire department be a little bit more prepared (when) they arrive on scene,” said Jackie Blackwell, the Workforce Specialist for Sedgwick County.
