WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Temporary closures impacting traffic in north Wichita precede the opening of a new ramp on the North Junction, part of a large-scale project that’s been ongoing for years. In preparation for work to happen from early Saturday morning to early Monday morning, the 21st Street on-ramp to northbound I-135 is closed through the weekend.
Looking ahead to the weekend and start of next week, the Kansas Department of Transportation announced that short-term closures of the on and off ramps from 21st Street North to Interstate 135, the ramp from westbound K-96 to northbound I-135 and the 29th Street on-ramp to I-135 will be in effect for about 48 hours.
The closures, planned ahead of a traffic switch and new ramp opening, will impact drivers from about 5 a.m. Saturday to about 6 a.m. Monday, KDOT advised…
