Denver breaks hottest temperature ever recorded in March (again)

DENVER (KDVR) — Temperatures reached 87 degrees on Wednesday, marking the hottest temperature ever recorded in March in Denver’s history.

March has been abnormally warm. The Pinpoint Weather team said that by late March, it should only be about a high of 60 degrees. However, this March, temperatures have topped 80 degrees and broken the record for the warmest March temperature ever recorded, twice.

Hottest March temperatures on record shattered across all of Colorado

Before this year, the warmest temperature ever recorded in March was set on March 26, 1971, at 84 degrees, according to National Weather Service data. However, that record was broken on March 19, when temperatures at the Denver International Airport topped out at 85 degrees. Then, it was broken again on March 21, which was 86 degrees.

That broken record was short-lived, as Denver tallied its hottest day in history in March on Wednesday. On March 25, temperatures at DIA were 87 degrees, officially breaking the less-than-a-week-old record…
