Albuquerque business owners left with questions on new ordinance limiting ICE

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Albuquerque business owners say the city’s new Safer Community Places Ordinance leaves them with questions about new license rules and worker notices.

The ordinance bars U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from using city spaces for operations and adds new steps for businesses that apply for or renew a license.

The city says they are still working out details and plans to provide templates, guidance and resources to businesses if and when Mayor Tim Keller signs the ordinance…
