13-year-old dies after jumping off Ypsilanti bridge

YPSILANTI, MI – A 13-year-old was found dead Wednesday evening after he jumped off a bridge in Ypsilanti.

A family member called emergency services around 5:15 p.m., March 25, to report the teen boy had jumped off the bridge overlooking the Huron River near Spring and Catherine streets, said Ken Hobbs, chief of the Ypsilanti Fire Department.

The family member reported the boy, from Ypsilanti Township, could not swim. The boy never resurfaced…
