Sheriff’s office seeks potential victims in CSAM, voyeurism case

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A 27-year-old North Charleston man is being held on more than $2 million bond after investigators said they found inappropriate images of young children and a woman on his phone, leading to nearly a dozen charges tied to child sexual exploitation and voyeurism.

Michael Beans is accused of sex crimes involving children ages 2 to 12. Investigators said Beans is facing 10 counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one count of voyeurism, along with charges of stalking, harassment and unlawful use of a cell phone.

Authorities said Beans was taken into custody last month for violating his probation. Folly Beach police had an active warrant for his phone and shared what they found with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators said there were inappropriate pictures of young children on the phone, as well as several inappropriate pictures of a woman that were taken without her consent…
