Population is growing around Cincinnati. These counties lead the way

The counties surrounding Cincinnati in Ohio and Kentucky continued to add population at a healthy clip over the past five years, but the region’s biggest population boom is happening about 100 miles north in the Columbus area.

U.S. Census estimates released Thursday show the five fastest-growing counties in Ohio all surround the state capital.

In Greater Cincinnati, Boone County led the way with a 6.9% increase from 2020 to 2025, raising its population to 145,000. Warren County was next with a 6.1% increase, followed by Clermont County and Kenton County at 4%, and Butler County and Campbell County at 2.5%…
