Residents pack Richland Township meeting over proposed solar project

RICHLAND, Mich. — Hundreds of residents packed a Richland Township meeting Wednesday night as debate continues over a proposed, large-scale solar development.

The Liberty Farms Solar project, proposed by Consumers Energy, would span more than 2,200 acres and generate up to 220 megawatts of electricity — enough to power about 52,000 homes.
