FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — After officials identified the remains of a man who had been reported missing in Franklin County, they filed murder charges against his brother.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Charles Arthur Smith, Jr. was reported missing after last being seen around February 22 this year.
Then, on March 17, FCSO recovered the remains of a body in the area of Power Dam Road. The remains were taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for identification, and that’s how officials learned the remains were of Charles Smith.
