ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Crews rescued a person on Thursday who was trapped inside a vacant house on Eiffel Place, a dead-end street off Joseph Avenue, during a fire.
The Rochester Fire Department says it took two dozen firefighters about 15 minutes to control the flames. RFD learned about the fire after a fire truck, heading to another incident, noticed heavy smoke coming from the house just after 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters say they heard someone yelling for help and began removing plywood boards to get inside. After rescuing the person, an ambulance took him to the hospital for evaluation…
