VENICE, Fla. (WWSB) – Two sides in an ongoing battle over the proposed Manasota Beach Road extension met face-to-face for the first time at the Sarasota County Commission chambers.
The extension was unanimously approved last August. The project has been on the county plan for more than 30 years.
Developer Pat Neal attempted to reach out to people opposed to the extension but was met with resistance.
“We don’t want you here, goodbye, find somewhere else to go,” community members said. “You’re ruining this area, you’re ruining the beach, say goodbye, that would be better.”…
