NOKOMIS — If you’re feeling the pain of higher gas prices, imagine you’re in Sarasota County Sheriff Kurt Hoffman’s shoes: His patrol vehicles log nearly 7 million miles a year, he said at Monday’s Nokomis Area Civic Association meeting.
And that’s not counting fuel for other vehicles, boats or helicopters, he said.
The additional expense is coming out of his nearly $225 million budget and will need to be factored into the next one, which is being prepared…
