OAK HARBOR – First, Melissa Wehner grasped her dream of owning a smalltown store, Perfect Imperfections Boutique & Design in downtown Oak Harbor. Then, she took her success to a whole new level when she earned Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certification through the Ohio Department of Development (ODD) on Feb. 20. WBE certification is a hard-earned and prestigious honor that opens doors to professional support and business growth.
According to the ODD website, the WBE program was created “to encourage, nurture, and support the growth of women-owned businesses to foster their development and increase the number of qualified competitors in the marketplace.” Benefits to certification include business exposure through an ODD searchable database and access to technical and business services.
