One injured in East Lubbock shooting, police investigating

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department confirmed that one person sustained moderate injuries after a shooting in the 2100 block of East 31st Street.

LPD officials say the call initially came in around 2:06 p.m. and that Lubbock Fire Rescue was first to arrive on scene in reference to a medical call. When they arrived on scene, they discovered an individual with a gunshot wound.

LPD officials say the victim was transported to University Medical Center for treatment and say the situation appears to be an isolated incident.
