Developers say a popular Southern eatery could soon make its return to the Texas Hill Country, thanks to a massive retail plaza under discussion along South Main Street in Boerne.
The Park Plaza Retail Development is a proposed one-story, 12,000-square-foot plaza currently in its conceptual stage. Steven Lee, who owns the forthcoming Hill & Bach Cellars winery, and architect Frank Valadez, of SA Partnership Architects, will work on the project together, pending final contracts for the sale of the property.
Valadez said at a March 3 Historic Landmark Commission meeting that if plans move forward, it could mean the return of chef Mark Bohanan’s beloved Peggy’s on the Green restaurant, which closed in November 2025, after selling its food and beverage operations to Boerne’s Kendall Inn.
