Portland police have released a composite sketch of a man they say kidnapped and sexually assaulted a teenage girl in Southeast Portland last November, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Investigators say the victim was picked up on the 4000 block of Southeast 82nd Avenue, then driven to the East Columbia neighborhood, where she was able to escape after the attack and run for help. In a bulletin, the bureau shared the sketch along with details about the vehicle the man was reportedly driving.
Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man in his mid-30s, about 5’8″ to 5’9″ and 180 to 200 pounds. He is described as bald with long red-brown hair, a medium-length matching beard, and sunken eyes with dark circles. Officers say he was driving an older-model silver van with windows and a large crack in the windshield. Inside, the van was reportedly messy and contained a pink-and-black baby seat carrier. The assault is reported to have happened on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, and detectives released the sketch on March 25, 2026, in hopes of shaking loose new leads. According to the Portland Police Bureau, anyone with information should email [email protected] and reference case number 25-311007.
Why Police Issued the Sketch Now
The sketch comes out roughly four months after the reported assault, a gap that investigators say is not unusual when they are hoping a new image can jog memories or prompt someone to check old surveillance footage. In recent years, Portland officials and state agencies have put money and staff into testing backlogged sexual assault kits and building units that can re-open cold cases, in an effort to squeeze more evidence out of older files. OPB has reported on the statewide push to clear a large backlog of untested kits and on the investigative results that followed.
