HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department extinguished a fire in a Waikīkī high-rise building overnight into March 26.
HFD officials first received word of the Kuhio Avenue blaze shortly after 11:45 p.m. on March 25. Responding units arrived within several minutes and could not immediately spot smoke or flames emitting from the 23-story residential building.

Upon further investigation, firefighters were able to locate the fire inside a unit on the building’s seventh floor. First responders worked quickly to have the fire fully extinguished by 12:10 a.m.
