BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Detective Frank Martinez was at lunch when he got the call — a distraught woman had reported being kidnapped from a gym parking lot and raped.
Martinez immediately hurried back to the office. He reviewed what little information had been compiled, interviewed the woman and set about building a case against suspect Vincent DeLeon, who was taken into custody just hours after the abduction.
Martinez testified Wednesday at DeLeon’s trial, which began Monday in Department 4 of Kern County Superior Court. He’s expected to testify again when the trial resumes next month…
