BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man was sentenced to 13 years in prison followed by five years of post-release supervision for his role in an armed robbery at a Hamburg liquor store in November 2022, the Erie County District Attorney’s Office said Thursday.
Officials said that Jayshawn L. Williams, 35, and co-defendant Mark Rockmore forcibly stole cash, bottles of liquor, and an employee’s cellphone on Nov. 22, 2022 around 8 p.m. after displaying what appeared to be a gun. Both were wearing ski masks and the incident was taped by the store’s video surveillance.
After Hamburg police initiated a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle, a female driver surrendered to police and Williams moved to the driver’s seat and drove away, fleeing to Lackawanna. Williams and Rockmore were later apprehended on Madison Street after Williams attempted to run from police…
