Man with 21 convictions arrested on drug trafficking and firearm charges

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Harvey Jamar Davenport Jr., 52, was arrested last night after a deputy conducted a traffic stop on his bicycle and reportedly found 40 grams of fentanyl, a firearm that had been reported missing out of Georgia, cocaine, and marijuana.

At about 10 p.m. on March 24, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a bicycle in the 1000 block of SW 61st Street because it didn’t have a rear red reflector. The deputy reported smelling a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from Davenport and his backpack, and Davenport reportedly said he did not have a medical marijuana card…
