MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A retired Memphis police captain, who made history as the first black captain of the department, is celebrating turning 99 years old.
We’re sending birthday wishes to retired MPD captain Jerry Williams.
According to police, Williams began his career in 1948 as a police recruit and served the city of Memphis for 32 years.
