ROANOKE, Va. (WSET) — The Roanoke Fire and EMS Department shared an update on the recovery of four firefighters who were injured while responding to a house fire.
On Thursday, Jan. 29, around 10:45 a.m., in the 2700 block of Courtland Road NW, crews responded to reports of a basement fire with people still inside the home. About 15 minutes into the response, firefighters inside the home issued a mayday, reporting they were “unable to evacuate.”
Four firefighters were taken to a local hospital: two with minor injuries, one with moderate injuries and one with serious injuries. Two were released shortly after, while the remaining two were taken to a burn center…
