Sewage overflow in Bayou La Batre raises health and safety concerns

A body of water in south Alabama may have been contaminated with waste after multiple construction errors caused sewage leaks in the same community in just over a month.

According to a Mobile County Health Department press release, a sewage overflow event occurred on Tuesday after a contractor damaged a force main on 9200 Shell Belt Road near Bayou La Batre.
