Southport approves zoning restrictions for vape and smoke shops

SOUTHPORT, N.C. — Southport’s Board of Aldermen has approved new zoning restrictions on vape and smoke shops, closing a gap in the town’s development ordinance.

New shops must be at least 500 feet from schools, playgrounds, parks, churches and residential areas, and at least 1,000 feet from any similar business.
