JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A man was found guilty in connection to the death of a Jackson man, whose decomposed body was discovered in an abandoned house.
Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens said Mackenzie “Corey” Stuckey, 45, was found guilty of second-degree murder and kidnapping in connection to the death of Richard Cooper, 65.

On October 20, 2018, Jackson police responded to a home on Winterview Drive after Cooper’s daughter reported that her father was missing. During the investigation, detectives received multiple tips regarding Cooper’s disappearance and the location of his vehicle.
According to Owens, investigators learned that Stuckey and an unidentified co-defendant had received a check in the mail that was addressed to a former resident and asked Cooper to deposit it into his bank account, because neither of them had an account…
