Webster County shows support as Sheriff Cole speaks on deputy shot four times

WEBSTER COUNTY, Mo. — One month after a deadly shooting that killed two Christian County deputies and injured two others — one from Christian County and one from Webster County — communities across the Ozarks are still rallying behind law enforcement.

Webster County Sheriff Roye Cole says his department is healing, but Detective Austin McCall continues to face a long recovery. Cole says most deputies have returned to work, but McCall remains under close medical care.

“We’re doing well,” Cole said. “We had to take a lot of care to take care of our people. Most of them are back to work, and we’re still working with McCall and trying to get him nursed back to health.”…
