Springfield Police Department offers park safety tips

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Summer-like weather has people flocking outdoors.

Springfield police are offering three simple safety tips for families heading to the park. Keep your phone in your pocket so you can keep an eye on your kids and the people around you. If walking alone, tell a friend or family member where you’re going. And double-check that your vehicle is locked.

“It’s a great reminder to make sure that, when they do park at any location, especially the park, that they don’t leave valuables in plain sight within their vehicle, such as a phone or a purse or electronic device, and that they do lock their vehicles,” Lt.
