Weld Re-8 families get needed after-school care solution

When the Boys and Girls Club left Fort Lupton last spring, Weld Re-8 families lost their after-school care with little warning. For a year, the district ran a stopgap program it knew wasn’t built to last. This fall, that changes.

Weld Re-8 School District is launching after-school programs at all three elementary schools through a new partnership with Right At School, with monthly rates starting at $50.

The after-school announcement is the second major childcare expansion the district has made this school year, both growing out of themes Superintendent Justin Ralston heard repeatedly on a community listening tour: early childhood care and after-school care were the two biggest needs families named…
