McDuffie County leaders have approved a zoning exception to bring a $1 billion data center to property near the Columbia County line.
Named Project Azalea by the project’s developers, the center at full build-out is expected to cover about 1.5 million square feet on a 200-acre portion of property bordered by Randall Hunt Road.
Plans for at least two other data centers are progressing on Columbia County sites about 5 miles away from the McDuffie site…
