BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A man from Mexico has been sentenced for illegally re-entering the U.S. after prior crimes led him to be deported in 2018, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.
The United States Attorney’s Office says Felipe Omar Hernandez-Gonzalez, 36, plead guilty in January 2026 to illegal reentry following his April 2018 deportation.
The United States Attorney’s Office says that court records show Hernandez-Gonzalez was deported after being charged with a DUI and assaulting his girlfriend in Hoover in 2018.
Law enforcement reportedly learned about Hernandez-Gonzalez again in the summer of 2025 after they say he beat and choked a woman he was in a relationship with in Walker County…
