Ladson man faces several charges after alleged attempted murder crash

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into another car on purpose Friday morning.

Joseph Latren Gordon Jr., 22, is charged with attempted murder, trafficking fentanyl, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and driving under suspension, according to jail records.

North Charleston police officers responded to a collision at the 5200 block of International Boulevard. Upon arrival, the driver, Gordon, reportedly told officers at the scene that he intentionally struck the other vehicle in an attempt to kill its occupants.

Gordon appeared to be highly emotional, crying uncontrollably and behaving erratically, according to police. He also claimed that his ex-girlfriend had killed his child, but when his sister later video-called, the call showed the child was alive and safe…
