Teen suspect in deadly Linden crash faces new gun charges; passenger also indicted

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 17-year-old suspect already facing multiple charges in a deadly crash that killed two people in Linden now faces additional gun specifications after prosecutors say he was found armed at the time of the incident. A passenger in the vehicle has also been indicted on a weapons charge.

The crash stemmed from a March 14 police pursuit, when Columbus officers attempted to stop the suspect’s red car after it had been linked to a shooting four days earlier. The teenager who was behind the wheel faces two counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, and a failure to comply with police charge. Gun specifications were added to those existing charges following the discovery that the suspect was carrying a firearm at the time of the crash.

Tyler Brandon, 20, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also indicted on a weapons charge. Brandon, who has a prior conviction for aggravated robbery, is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm…
