EPD asks for public’s help in deceased dog case

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — An investigation is underway after the Evansville Police Department responded to a scene of a dog hung from a tree. EPD says they received a call on Wednesday evening from a person who passed by the dog on Cross Street and South Evans Avenue.

Police officials say the bystander told them that he may have seen the dog days before the call. EPD says that the pitbull mix was dead when they arrived upon discovering it and that it had been for some time.

Police say that the dog was also found in a wooded area away from street view, which may have contributed to it going unnoticed…
