Clovis will repurpose a 2.45-acre parcel of land on Shaw Avenue that has been vacant for nearly half a century for use as a storage facility.
The vacant property, located north of Shaw Avenue between Fowler and Laverne avenues, was originally designated for office use, according to Clovis’s Shaw Avenue Specific Plan established in 1978. But the Planning Commission will discuss rezoning the property to allow for the construction of a storage facility at its 6 p.m. Thursday meeting.
The city’s plan for Shaw Avenue was designed to prevent it from becoming a continuation of the linear commercial style prevalent west of Clovis Avenue, according to the staff report.
