SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A Cowpens man was sentenced to life in prison for killing his grandmother, the Seventh Circuit Solicitor’s Office announced Thursday.
On Wednesday, a jury found 44-year-old Daniel Travis Horton guilty of murdering 88-year-old Betty Doris Horton.
Officials said the killing happened at Betty Horton’s home on Battleground Road, next to the family’s truck repair business. About a year before her death, she allowed her grandson to move in with her.
