Insurance denies toddler’s care, Fresno steps in to help

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 22-month-old Fresno girl living with a rare condition is getting support from the community after her family says insurance repeatedly denied a piece of equipment she needs to help her walk.

Ahzunea Mondragon-Lyday was born with Costello syndrome, a rare condition that affects growth and development. Her parents say she has been fighting since birth.

“She’s been a fighter since day one, you know, and as a parent, we’re proud that we’ve seen her grow this much.
