Knoxville man convicted of raping, videoing unconscious woman sentenced

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville man who was convicted earlier this year of videoing himself raping an unconscious woman has been sentenced to more than two decades in prison.

On Friday, Knox County Attorney General Charme Allen’s office announced that Rudolph Valentino Campbell, III, 45, was sentenced to serve 24 years in prison without the possibility of parole. That is the maximum sentence after he was convicted of two counts of rape and one count of disseminating unlawful photographs in January.

During the three-day trial, prosecutors explained to the jury that officers responded to the report of a rape that occurred on December 17, 2024. The victim told officers she had been drinking that day and ended up at Campbell’s house, where she later passed out that night.

The DA’s office said that while the victim was unconscious, Campbell sexually assaulted her and recorded the rape on his cell phone. He then sent the video to the victim and another person, the DA’s office explained…
