Lansing City Council could rename César E. Chávez Avenue

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The legacy of César E. Chávez, the man at the front line of the fight for migrant workers’ rights is now falling apart ever since accusations of sexual abuse surfaced earlier this month. Now, the ripples are being felt right here in Mid-Michigan.

Many organizations across the country, including the farmworker’s union he helped co-found with Dolores Huerta — one of the women accusing him of sexual assault — have cancelled or renamed events formerly in his honor.
