Traffic chase leads to child endangerment charges

A late-evening vehicle chase by the Gallatin Police Department and Sumner County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of a woman with outstanding warrants in multiple counties.

According to court records, a Gallatin police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 10:45 p.m. on March 18 on a gray SUV with a headlight out while traveling westbound on Nashville Pike. The vehicle reportedly sped up and GPD terminated the pursuit after the vehicle passed Douglas Bend Road. A BOLO (be on the lookout) was issued.

Minutes later, a Sumner County deputy on Vietnam Veterans Boulevard saw the vehicle getting onto the highway and attempted to initiate his own traffic stop. After the driver again reportedly tried to speed off, another deputy put down spike strips, which punctured one of the vehicle’s tires…
