A Wildwood man was arrested with illicit pills after police investigated reports of shots fired near Oxford Oaks.
Officers responded to the area of County Road 209 and Oxford Oaks Lane around 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Dispatch described the suspect vehicle as a beat-up white car with a dent in the side, which was later found to be driven by 21-year-old Hunter Blake Maier.
While en route, the officers spotted a white Toyota Camry with damage on the passenger side at the intersection of West Clarke Street and U.S. 301. Based on the timeline and where the car was spotted, police believed they had the right vehicle. The officers subsequently stopped the car in the parking lot of 7-Eleven, located at 4076 County Road 462, the report said.
Maier followed all commands to get out with his hands up, after which he was handcuffed. The officers got his permission to search the vehicle for firearms and did not find any. However, they did locate a loose 9mm Full Metal Jacket round on the driver’s seat and a cellophane baggie with eight pills in the center console, the report said…
