Sacramento man indicted for firearm possession as a felon

SACRAMENTO, California — A federal grand jury has indicted 34-year-old Damarion Nash, of Sacramento, for being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Eric Grant.

Nash was found with a loaded Colt .45 caliber handgun on January 15, 2026, despite being prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions in Sacramento County, including attempted robbery and criminal threats, stated the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The Sacramento Police Department, with assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, conducted the investigation.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad Ng is prosecuting the case. If convicted, Nash faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing will be determined by the court, considering statutory factors and federal Sentencing Guidelines.
