RANKIN COUNTY – The Rankin County Animal Shelter is asking the public to adopt as it faces overcrowding and runs out of available kennel space.
Shelter officials said the facility is over capacity again and currently has no free kennels.
To help more pets find homes, the shelter is holding a half-off adoption event Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28.
During the event, dog adoption fees will be reduced to $65. The fee includes spay or neuter services, a rabies vaccine, core vaccinations and a microchip, according to the shelter. Adopters also will receive a free collar and leash…
