Freeport Park District disconnects from ‘shocking’ Wi-Fi tower project

FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – Elizabeth Priller moved to Freeport in 2023 with an expectation.

“We bought this home as our forever home,” she exclaimed. The residence sits along Park Crest Drive near the community’s western edge. Her backyard blends into Park Hills Golf Course with towering pine trees planted for a nursery.

“I want to die in our big sunroom that faces this view, because it’s such a beautiful view, and I want that to be the last view that I have,” she noted. “I remember the realtor saying, ‘You will never have issues with development here because it’s park district land, and you’ll always have a beautiful view.”…
