Demolition of Nampa’s Edwards Cinema clears way for Sugar District developments

The final curtain dropped on Nampa‘s Edwards Cinema in 2022. And soon the longstanding iconic structure located in the heart of what is now known as the city’s Sugar District will be gone for good.

With no other viable options for re-using the site, the building will soon be completely dismantled, according to David Wali, a managing parter with the Gardner Group.

“I’m a huge advocate for reusing whenever possible, but in this particular case, the building was becoming a public nuisance more than anything else,” Wali said, citing ongoing vandalism issues as a major problem for both the property and the surrounding community.

“Demolition projects of this type typically take about two months, and we’ll try to repurpose as much of what is salvageable out of it,” he said, noting that usable materials will be separated and sent off for scrap…
