Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office names Ricky Robbins as chief deputy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office has named Ricky Robbins as its new chief deputy, effective April 1.

Robbins, who brings more than 40 years of law enforcement experience, will support Sheriff Garry McFadden in the overall management and strategic direction of the office, according to the sheriff’s office. He will oversee the Courts Division and Field Operations Division, which serve Mecklenburg County residents and the judicial system.

Robbins began his career with what is now the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, where he held assignments in patrol, SWAT, crash investigations and homicide investigations…
