LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. (WXIX) – A Dearborn County man was sentenced Friday to more than three decades in prison after killing a toddler in 2024, according to Dearborn County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens.
Jesse Allen Sartin, of Lawrenceburg, was sentenced to 35 years after he pleaded guilty to aggravated battery resulting in death for violently shaking the 20-month-old Caroline.
Prosecutors said that evidence was presented to the court that Sartin had shaken the child for nearly 20 seconds, causing severe brain injuries including brain hemorrhaging, retinal bleeding and brain damage…
