EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – Record warmth today followed by another 30° drop overnight. Showers and few storms will be possible overnight Thursday into Friday. High pressure will dry us out through the weekend with gradually warming temperatures through next week.
Expect mostly sunny skies for the rest of this afternoon with highs reaching the mid 80s! The previous record high for today was 81 set back in 2020. Winds will be breezy with gusts out of the southwest up to 30 mph. Clouds will gradually increase this evening as a cold front descends in from the north.
The cold front will get out way ahead of the potential for any showers or storms Friday morning. So, the severe weather threat is extremely low, but some rumbles of thunder will be possible. An isolated strong to severe storm can’t be ruled out north of I-64 with gusty winds and some small hail possible. Showers will linger into the first part of Friday before drying out Friday evening. Highs will only top out in the mid to upper 50s. Temperatures will tumble into the lower 30s overnight…
