Redevelopment of 1888 Grand Rapids rail depot building approved by city board

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A former rail depot on Grand Rapids’ West Side is set to be redeveloped into office space for Advantage Commercial Real Estate, a $2.7 million project approved Wednesday by the city’s Brownfield Redevelopment Authority.

The authority approved the project’s request for up to $710,831 in brownfield tax‑increment financing. The reimbursement, which must still receive approval from the Grand Rapids City Commission, would be made over a 24‑year period using tax revenue generated at the site because of the redevelopment.
